Back To Pincushions

Image
Well, I got through the blog hop.  What fun that was!  Thanks to everyone who participated and commented on my blog.  I'm still in awe over all the nice comments I got on my block.  Wow!

So......today I got back to making more pincushions to take to the Town & Country Christmas Bazaar.  This time, I'm using 4 oz. canning jars and putting the pincushions on the lids.  That way, the jar can be used for sewing supplies like buttons, ribbons, or whatever.  Scrunching the filling into the fabric while trying to hold on to the jar lid makes me think a third hand might be a big help.....haha.

I printed off a bunch of pictures of buttons and am cutting them to fit the jars.  I'm hoping it will display them a little better.

This is some cute "quilter" fabric that I thought would be fun for the pincushions.

I'm hoping to finish up all the jars tomorrow and then on to more projects!

There will be lots of giveaways as part of the blog tour.  You can get more information about that on Quiltmaker's blog called Quilty Pleasures.

Building Display Racks

Image
Today Hubby built a couple of rotating display racks (with my help, of course!) so I will have a more attractive display for my patterns.  It was colder than a.........well, you know, but we bundled up and got them done enough for painting.  After painting, the top and bottom pieces will be attached, then the lazy-susan base pieces.  These will be a much nicer way to display my patterns at shows.

These are the end, top, and lazy-susan base pieces.

This is one of the displays.  Each display will hold 4 patterns per side which is 16 per display.
Of course Douglas had to be there to supervise....lol ;)

Working On My Projects - Getting Ready for the Town & Country Christmas Bazaar

Image
I'm sewing like crazy trying to get everything done for my vendor booth at the 2014 Town and Country Christmas Bazaar the first weekend in December.  As usual, I'm waaay behind!  I don't seem to be able to work any other way - I love it!

My latest project is aprons.  I've gotten six done and six more to go.

This is one I finished today.  I'll have them for sale at the Christmas bazaar and in my Etsy.com shop:   Carter Creek Quilts - Etsy.com Shop
Of course, my little buddy was on hand to help if needed.....that is if I woke him up ;)
Every once in a while I just sat and enjoyed the view out of my windows.  It was such a nice, sunny day outside.
