2 Dams - 3 Checkpoints - 1 Quilt Shop

I got back home yesterday from a very nice 3 day motorcycle trip.  The weather was gorgeous but there was lots of smoke from all the fires going on.  I picked up two more dams (I'm doing the DamTour.com), three checkpoints (I'm also doing the Rose City Motorcycle Club Grand Tour), and stopped by a wondeful quilt shop in LaPine called Homestead Quilts.

Homestead Quilts is located at 51425 Hwy 97 in LaPine.  Their website is:  www.homesteadquiltsonline.com

I really enjoyed my stop there.  Everyone was so friendly and helpful.  They even offered to watch my jacket while I shopped.  They said they get motorcycle riders in there all the time and stash their helmets and gear so they can shop without having to pack all those things.
There were lots of wonderful things in the store.  Of course I had to get some fabric.  I found some that will be perfect for the background on a quilt I'm in the process of developing a pattern for.  Can't wait to try it!
THANK YOU HOMESTEAD QUILTS for such a nice experience!

From LaPine I headed SE to Fort Rock State Park.  I have been there before, but always enjoy looking at rock formations.

I then went to Ana River Dam just North of Summer Lake, then West to Highway 97, and spent the night in an RV Park at Chiloquin.  The next day I went South to Keno Dam.  I saw a bunch of pelicans swimming in the reservoir there.  It was so peaceful.
I then continued to Williams and Butte Falls for a couple of RCMC checkpoints.  I headed North towards Crescent Lake for the night.  This is Mt. Thielsen.
There was a pretty little creek (Crescent Creek) running through the campground that night.  It was a nice campground, but it got very cold that night.  I got up to frost on my motorcycle seat the next morning.  Geez.....it's still August....it shouldn't be freezing yet....right??
On home and ready to get back to working on patterns and quilts.  Oh.....and planning my next trip!
